Swedish-Eritrean Alexander Isak was named as Sweden’s most favorite football player 2016 – he plays for Stockholm club AIK.
The AIK striker won the Swedish Fans’ Favorite Award 2016 sponsored by Swedish Pay TV Company C More. Isak donated the winning price to projects run by the Swedish Football Supporters Association, according to his club.
His popularity skyrocketed in the past two years and has gained him thousands of fans across Sweden and Europe.
Alexander Isak, nicknamed by his supporters the next “Zlatan Ibrahimovic” or the “Little Prince” scored ten goals in twenty-four Swedish First Division appearances this season and scouts from Europe’s biggest clubs flocked to Stockholm to watch him in action in recent months.
The 17-year old talent has top clubs like Juventus Turin, Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Muenchen and Arsenal lined up hoping to make him become part of their squad.
